A Foreword to Taste Tested

February 6, 2019 | Writer: QT

Hi Foodies,

Before Taste Tested can officially start, I feel I need to lay out the rules or just certain foundations in which I write reviews. Right off the bat, my opinions are my own and I’m not getting paid to do this. I have no culinary background or future…just kidding. But I am serious about the “no culinary past” part. I’m just a foodie.

  1. My preferences will definitely reflect on my reviews. I usually like to go with at least one other person to get their opinion as well. Two stomachs are better than one, after all! I’ll still put a disclaimer before I make a claim on something. Like, maybe I’ll say the fries are too salty but I’ll also acknowledge that I generally don’t have a high tolerance for salty food.
  2. I follow the Rule of Three. I only write a review after going three times. It just seems fair. Since what if, the day I drop by is an off day for the restaurant. But, saying that, consistency still matters. An off day once in a blue moon is forgivable. But if a restaurant is so inconsistent that it’s consistent, it’s not fair to paying customers. I don’t want to drive an hour to some restaurant just for this visit to be an off day again…nobody got time or gas for that.

That’s all for now. I’ll continually update as needed. Also, if you have any questions or suggestions, do comment down below!

Cheers,
